With the map editor tools, you can intervene in the natural growth process of cities and industries. The menu can be opened via a button in the Special Tools menu if you are a public service player.

· Increase Industrial Density: A random industrial chain is built.

· City Growth: Use one of the two tools in the area of the city whose population you want to change. If you use the tool in an overlapping area of cities, the action only affects one city.
- Increase Population: The growth tool is a upward-pointing arrow. Each time the tool is used, the city will grow by 100 inhabitants. Buildings are immediately renovated or newly constructed, as this action increases the number of unemployed and homeless people.
- Reduce Population: The degrowth tool is a downward-pointing arrow. The city's population will decrease by 100 each time the tool is used. All buildings remain intact. The valued of unemployed and homeless people get negative. The city will only show structural development again when growth has created a need for construction.

· Build city road: The same road is built that the city builds when growing and renovating buildings. The road type depends on the current era and is built with a sidewalk. Roads built with this tool can be used by all players for free.

· Disallow further player switching: This tool removes option to operate as other player companies. You must first assign a password for the public hand. Then, use the tool to click on any map position. There is no confirmation required and it cannot be undone. This will prevents from switching to the public hand or the computer players. It will also prevents from accessing this menu again. The option freeplay mode to avoid bankruptcy will be blocked also.

· Create random city vehicle: Click on a street and a random city vehicle will appear. Unfortunately, it is not possible to select one or specify or a destination to go for.

· Skip year: The Simutrans time advances by one year. New vehicles and construction options may become available when their launch year is reached. No urban development occurs.
To use: click on tool, no further confirmation is required, date changes on left of bottom-bar under game-view.
